Barefoot is supported by the British Computer Society (BCS), Computing at School (CAS) and BT. Through programmes offered to young people and their families, for example, schoolchildren, their parents, and even senior citizens (grandparents) can be introduced to, and then educated about, DigiTech & Cyber. This might include presentations, workshops, online courses and educational activity, including quizzes.

In-Work Training Programme

BIT Group training session

In 2022, the Trust worked with BIT Training to design and deliver a Cyber Analyst course, as part of a DfE-funded ‘upskilling’ pilot specifically targeted at IoTs. The In-Work Cyber Security Training Programme (IWTP) was based at the Barking & Dagenham College and almost 40 individuals who were ‘in employment’ were able to upskill and achieve an NCSC accredited Cyber qualification.

Four individuals on the course were able to secure promotions and/or new roles – even before the training course had been completed!
