Safer Internet Day with the Hampshire OPCC

A photograph of participants at the Safer Internet Day event at King Edward VI School, Southampton

Tuesday the 7th February 2023, also known as ‘Safer Internet Day’, provided an amazing opportunity for the CyberHub Trust to meet some of the Cyber Ambassadors from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and Isle of Wight hosted an initiative at the very impressive King Edward VI School, Southampton.

The Conference brought together Key Stage 3 / Key Stage 4 Cyber Ambassadors from across Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. Julia Von Klonowski, Chair of the Trust, delivered a series of workshops to students, alongside colleagues from the police, SEROCU Cyber Choices, the Yellow Door charity, cyber professionals and cyber educators (including TV personality Baasit Siddiqui from Siddiqui Education).

Comments from some of the students after the day’s activities concluded included:

“Think before you act because you don’t want to do anything that you might regret later” and “Try and make sure that everything you put online leaves a positive digital footprint because these things can catch up to you.”

Thank you to Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Terry Norton and all at the OPCC team for inviting us to such a fantastic event.
