CyberFirst Careers Fair 2022

The CyberHub Trust was pleased to support the NCSC by attending the recent CyberFirst Careers Fair in Telford, on Wednesday 9th November. The Trust, which is a CyberFirst Associate, hosted a stand alongside friends and partners from the West Midlands Regional Cyber Crime Unit.

The event boasted 58 ‘Industry Members’, with exhibition stands, merchandise (or merch!) and teams, all of whom were available to discuss Cyber career opportunities. Importantly, over 150 CyberFirst Bursary Students attended the event.

One student had the following feedback:

“Such a fantastic opportunity to be in a room full of a diverse range of companies and have the opportunity to ask any burning questions and find out more about the opportunities on offer!“

A key objective of The CyberHub Trust is to ‘facilitate a pipeline of trained, qualified and experienced young individuals, to address the Skills/Experience gap in the UK market’. The young individuals who visited the Careers Fair certainly reassured those of us who attended, displaying a passion & excitement for the industry and highlighting the fact that our industry will benefit from some talented individuals in the not-too-distant future.

Although The CyberHub Trust is a charity and therefore unable to compete with some of the more impressive merch offered by some of our high-tech partners & associates, we were fortunate to be able to offer some funky stickers to individuals who visited our stand, something that most people in the cyber, cloud and tech industries appreciate – we do love a laptop sticker…!

Many thanks to the Discount Sticker Company for supporting us with these amazing products.
